Hi! I have moved to the Big Island (Kailua-Kona). I need help finding the best teacher for me-perhaps with supplementation in Honolulu.
I have a right thoracic/ left lumbar scoliosis. I have taken classes and retreats with Elise Miller and have been a “model” for her teacher training in San Francisco. I am 68 years old. While I have studied for years, I have post-exertional malaise”, a condition that requires that I progress slowly and monitor the effects of each class.
I wonder if you might suggest teachers on the island with whom I might study.
Hi! I am interested in doing an Iyengar TT, do you think you will start doing one again any time soon or in the next couple of years? I currently live on the North Shore of Oahu & I teach Hatha Yoga, but I am very interested in learning more about Iyengar Yoga.
Hi Cassidy,
The current new guidelines from India specify that Iyengar teacher training is done through mentorship with your teacher.
I am currently mentoring some students. It’s a very personal and sincere endeavor on everyone’s part and nothing like the current state of teacher training that you find outside the Iyengar system.
If after hearing this you are still interested then you would have to commit to being a regular and sincere student for 3-6 years
Hi Theresa,
I will be conducting a Teacher Training Course on the Big Island of Hawaii starting in February 2016

If you are near Kona, I would suggest Amanda Griggs at the Big Island Yoga Center
